Seedy (and speedy!) crackers

This is the most amazing thing to eat if you are struggling with wheat and other grains, or if you simply like a snack on the go. Made mainly from seeds, it will fill you up nicely, gives you great nutrients and it tastes lovely, too!

Perfect additions are peanut butter, cheese, pastrami, edamame or simply a carrot or some cucumber…


75g Chia seeds

75g Sunflower seeds

60g Sesame seeds or a mixture of any seeds you like

50g  ground almonds or hazelnuts

1/2tsp of salt

200ml water


Line a baking tray with baking paper, preheat the oven to 170C

Combine all ingredients, add the water and mix everything together. Spread the mixture between two big pieces of baking paper and roll it out using a rolling pin until it’s about 5mm thick. If it’s thicker than that they remain a bit chewy!

Remove the upper layer of baking paper, and bake the mixture for about 30min.

Remove from the oven and cut in stripes or squares using a knife. Flip them over on the tray and bake again for another 15-20 min. Cool completely and store in a sealed container.


Note: I like them rather plain but if you prefer a more savoury taste, you can add herbs, chilli powder or garlic. Enjoy!
